We have extensive experience in the conservation, restoration, strengthening and adaptation of both Grade I and Grade II listed buildings as well as in the construction of all types of new buildings in all structural materials, including deep basements.
We have successfully delivered medium to large size projects as well as new build and refurbished structures. Our portfolio includes prestigious dwellings with indoor swimming pools, residential developments, multi-storey commercial and mixed use buildings with deep basements, students’ residences, places of worship, church halls, hotels, restaurants, glass structures, offices, medical facilities, light industrial and warehouse units.
Antonis Savvides BSc(Hons) MSc CEng MIStructE
Antonis set up ads consultancy in January 2000.
Antonis graduated from City University (London) in 1984 with a Masters Degree in Civil Engineering (Structures) becoming a Chartered Engineer in 1987.
Antonis worked with Alan Baxter and Associates for four years on the design and site supervision of prestigious projects such as the refurbishment and conversion of a Grade II listed hotel in Gloucester Road into residential units (£3m), The new build Cheltenham General Hospital (£6m) and a new build office development in Chiswell Street close to The Barbican Centre (£12.1m). During this time Antonis also spent one year as a Resident Engineer on the commencement of the prestigious Cartlon Gate following the demolition of St Mary’s Hospital, the largest residential development at the time (£58m).
In 1988 Antonis joined Dewhurst McFarlane as a Senior Engineer where he was responsible for the structural design, management and site supervision of major office developments, housing projects and educational buildings.
Key projects include Little London Office Development in Docklands (£12.5m), new build Student Residences at the University of East Anglia (£12.0m), new build Circle Thirty Three head offices in Islington (£1.5m) and new build Student Residences at Queen Mary and Westfield College (£1.3m).
Antonis joined Alan Conisbee & Associates in 1994 for five years becoming an Associate in 1995 where he was responsible for a team of eight engineers and the management of the practice.
Projects included the refurbishment, conversion and construction of a new build block of flats at the Old Jewish Hospital in Tottenham (£6m), Weldon Crescent a new build residential development in Harrow (£2.5m), Finchley Road a conversion of five Victorian houses into flats (£3m), the conversion of Grade II listed building as well as a new build block for the Freemasons Old Peoples Home in Hove (£3.8m) and JD Wetherspoon Public Houses all over England that included new build as well as conversions of cinemas and opera houses.
Ryan Seagreen BEng(Hons) CEng MIET
Ryan joined ads consultancy in October 2008 as an Engineer, later progressing to become an Associate and is currently a Director of the Practice.
Ryan studied Civil Engineering at the Durban University of Technology in South Africa and graduated Cum Laude in 2005, where he was awarded the Dean Merit Award for graduating as the top student in his graduating year.
Ryan’s career started in South Africa as a Site Engineer and Site Manager for a Main Contractor on large scale Civil Engineering and Structural construction projects in the Private and Public Sectors. Projects worked on included the construction of a 154,000ft², new build industrial plywood mill in structural steelwork founded on reinforced concrete piled foundations; the refurbishment of a circa 25 hectare Public Works prison complex; the construction of several large reinforced concrete reservoirs and water retaining structures of between 5 to 15 megalitres, the construction of circa 25km of water and waste water pipelines and the construction of waste water and potable drinking water reinforced concrete structured plants.
Since arriving in the United Kingdom, Ryan has worked for three consulting practices (including ads consultancy), working as a Resident Project Engineer on a circa 240,000 ft² grade A office refurbishment and extension in Farringdon Road in Central London (circa £45m contract value), a circa 2,000,000 ft² new build industrial Data Centre complex in Newbury (circa £58m contract value), the office refurbishments of Shell’s international headquarters in Waterloo (circa £80m contract value) and the refurbishment works to a private medical laboratory in Central London (circa £25m contract value).
Stephanos Nicolaou BEng(Hons) MSc
Stephanos joined ads consultancy in October 2013 as an Engineer, later progressing to become an Associate in November 2015 and is currently an Associate Director of the Practice.
Stephanos studied at City University and graduated in 2006 with a Masters Degree in Civil Engineering (Structures).
After graduating, Stephanos commenced his career in Cyprus as Materials Engineer for Iacovou Brothers (Construction) Ltd, one of the leading building and civil engineering construction groups in the Eastern Mediterranean, where he was responsible for sourcing and purchasing materials that met the requirements and specifications of the numerous projects the company was involved with. He then joined Sol Terra Developers as a Project Manager of several projects that included new built multi-storey blocks of flats, development of 40 detached houses, and refurbishment/change of use of a hotel into individual flats.
Stephanos continued his career at Quality Group, one of the biggest property developers in Cyprus where he was involved in the structural design of the group’s projects, as well as acting as Project Manager on several developments.
Projects included the construction of 16 new build luxury detached houses on Larnaca beach (Enalia Beach Residences, €5.7m), four blocks of flats in Pyla village (The Views at Pyla, €4.5m), two property developments in Alaminos village, one consisting of 21 properties and another one consisting of 40 properties (Alaminos Village 1 and Alaminos Village 2, €3.5m and €3m), a refurbishment of a historical/listed house in Larnaca town centre as well as adding a new 200m2 reinforced concrete rear extension (€300k), and a development consisting of fifteen detached houses at Pervolia village (Pervolia Residences, €3m).
Martyna Filtness MSc Eng
Martyna joined ads consultancy in April 2008 as a Graduate Engineer, later progressing to become a Senior Engineer and is currently an Associate of the Practice.
Martyna studied at the Faculty of Civil Engineering at Cracow University of Technology in Poland and spent three months at The Polytechnic University of Turin in Italy working on her master thesis. She graduated in 2007 with a Master of Science Degree.
Martyna has been responsible for the structural design and drawing production of a large number of new-build and refurbishment projects including Grade I and II listed buildings. Notable new build projects include a 4-storey mixed use building in Wood Green, two 3-storey blocks of flats in Arkley, four 3-storey houses in St. Albans, 4-storey house including a basement in Totteridge, 4-storey house in Finsbury Park, 6-storey mixed use building in Seven Sisters and a new school in Derby. Refurbishment projects include the conversion of two 6-storey Grade II listed buildings on Gloucester Road into residential units including a new build extension at the rear with a 2-storey basement, the conversion of Islington Council offices into mixed use units in Upper Street and the conversion of 3 storey office building above a ground floor retail unit in Hendon into residential units.
Wanda joined ads consultancy in October 2005 as Office Administrator.
Wanda has over twenty years of secretarial and administrative experience within the Structural Engineering field.
Having worked with Antonis at Alan Conisbee & Associates, Wanda then joined ads consultancy on a part time basis. As the practice grew she was employed full time and promoted to Practice Manager. In her role as Practice Manager, Wanda oversees the smooth running of the office ensuring exceptional client relations. Wanda is also responsible for the finance administration of the practice.
